Let’s Meet @ O’Connell Street

Case Study

It's time to Zoom out and meet up.

Amidst a year of social distance, the people of O'Connell Street refused to let their community fade away. The 'Let's Meet At O'Connell Street' project was born out of a collective desire to reignite the vibrant energy of O'Connell Street. A collaboration of businesses, with the backing of the Waterford Cultural Quarter, led the charge to turn the street into a pedestrian-only haven of excitement.

With the street free from traffic, the community gathered for live music performances and other outdoor events, reigniting the spirit of the neighborhood. The project was a resounding success, bringing people together safely while supporting local businesses. It was a testament to the resilience of the community, who refused to let the pandemic dampen their spirits. 'Let's Meet At O'Connell Street' proved that even in times of isolation, people can still find ways to connect and create something beautiful.
